Bishop Douglas Crosby, OMI, sadly announces the death of Monsignor John Vincent Kerr, on June 2, 2012 at The Precious Blood Monastery in Hamilton, Ontario. He was 60 years old and in his 32nd year of the priesthood. Monsignor is predeceased by his parents, Hugh and Una (nee McAllister) Kerr. He is the loved brother of Fr. Aidan Kerr, Declan Kerr, Enda Mulholland, Eithne Egan, and Damien Kerr and their families, all of N. Ireland. Monsignor Kerr served in multiple roles in the Diocese of Hamilton including Associate Pastor at the Cathedral of Christ the King in Hamilton, Blessed Sacrament Parish in Kitchener and St. Gabriel Parish in Burlington. He served as Administrator at Annunciation of Our Lord Parish in Hamilton and Pastor at St. John the Baptist Parish in Burlington. At the time of his death Monsignor Kerr was Judicial Vicar and Chancellor for the Diocese. He also served as Chaplain to the Sisters of St. John the Baptist and to the Sisters of the Precious Blood in Hamilton, where he resided upon his death. Visitation: Wednesday, June 6, 2012 from 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Cathedral of Christ the King, Hamilton. Prayer Vigil: Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at 8:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Thursday, June 7, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cathedral of Christ the King, Hamilton.
